When you have a few 47 Brand hats, how do you determine which ones are in your regular rotation and which ones sit on the shelf? While the answers to these questions are largely personal, there are a few things to consider that can help you refine your rotation. Here are a few of those considerations and how to decide when to wear your hats.

Defining a Rotation-Worthy Hat

There are a few factors that can determine if you put your new 59FIFTY Atlanta Braves hats in rotation.

First, comfort. Is the hat comfortable? Fitted hats can be extremely comfortable, but they have to be the right size.

Second, fit. If you sized up or down just to get the hat from the limited edition drop that you wanted, it may not be right for your regular lineup.

Third, style. Certain colorways or themes pair better with specific outfits, so they may not be in regular rotation unless you wear that outfit frequently.

Finally, you may have a special connection to certain hats and want to wear them frequently. If you just love the way a hat looks, it will naturally fit into your starting lineup.

Changing Your Rotation as Your Collection Grows

As your collection of New Era side patch hats grows with different teams, alternate logos, or different patches, you have more choices. More hats means wearing each individual hat less often. Early favorites in your collection might solidify their place in your rotation, or they could be quickly displaced by newer additions. Over time, older hats might shift out of the lineup, whether they are worn rarely or relegated to the shelf.

When to Move a Hat to Permanent Shelf Status

There are a few reasons you might want to put a hat on permanent shelf status. The most obvious reason is the condition of the hat. As you continue to wear a specific hat, its condition will gradually deteriorate. There are ways you can slow and delay this, but it’s inevitable. You might want to take it out of rotation before the hat’s condition worsens. Sentimental hats and display pieces, such as unique, limited-edition drops, may also want to stay on the shelf, allowing you to preserve the hat and bring it out only for special occasions.
